Kari Vanardoy was working her daily shift at the WingHouse restaurant in Largo, Fla., when one of the customers she was serving did the unthinkable.
During the visit, the patrons ordered bottomless boneless wings, sodas and blue cheese, but she found it odd that they were so inquisitive about her life. But the 22-year-old waitress admitted that she works two jobs and lives in a studio apartment with her 2-year-old son and boyfriend.
After the couple were finished, they asked for the check. When the waitress returned, Vanardoy noticed she was tipped $1,000 on a $29 bill! At first she thought the group had mistakenly written the massive tip, but they told her she deserved it.
“She actually told me she was my guardian angel if I ever need anything,” Vanardoy told WFTS. “I didn’t do anything for them ever, so it was just a sweet act.”
It’s wonderful to see how a random act of kindness can completely change a person’s life forever. This isn’t the first time a waitress has gotten a big tip. Back in April, a man gave a waitress a $3,000 tip on a bill for $43.50!
Can you imagine being these lucky ladies?! Vanardoy said that this money will help her move from a studio she shares with her boyfriend and child into a bigger apartment. It’ll also help her buy groceries and pay for her schooling.
