She Was Trying To Save a Teen’s Life When The Dispatcher Tells Her To ‘Deal With It Yourself…” The 911 Call Is Unbelievable!

Dispatchers are the first people we talk to in our call for help- literally. They’re the ones who keep us calm in frantic situations and get us the help we desperately need. But one Albuquerque Fire Department dispatcher is on administrative leave for doing the unthinkable.

17-year-old Jaydon Chavez-Silver was at a party with friends when a car drove by and started shooting at the house. His friend noticed he was shot in the chest and immediately called 911. She was connected to 10-year New Mexico department veteran Matthew Sanchez.

Below is a recording of the 911 call unlike anything you’ve heard before. She tells Sanchez that Jaydon is barely breathing. You then hear her encouraging Jaydon to take a few more breaths. Over her heavy, frantic breathing, Sanchez asks her if he is breathing, once again.

She responds with,

He’s barely breathing! How many times do I have to f****** tell you?

Her response irritates Sanchez, encouraging him to reply with,

Okay, you know what ma’am? You could deal with this yourself.” I’m not going to deal with this, okay?

Before he could hear her say,

No! My friend is dying!

Sanchez hangs up. Just a few hours later, Jaydon died at the nearby hospital.

Albuquerque Fire Department Chief David Downey said,

After learning of the alleged misconduct, Driver Matthew Sanchez was immediately removed from the dispatch center and placed on administrative assignment. An internal investigation has been initiated. As the Chief of the department, I am taking the allegation very seriously.

Jaydon mother heard the recording of the phone call a day after his death and, needless to say, was heartbroken. More importantly, she and the rest of the family want to find the people who are responsible for the death of her some.
