Fire this ‘morally bankrupt punk’ demand hundreds on social media after fast food worker plays cruel prank on elderly homeless man
Furious calls have been made for a McDonald’s worker to be sacked after he was captured on video cruelly humiliating a homeless man by tempting him with a hot hamburger and then chucking cold water all over him.
The fast food worker is seen baiting the vagrant from a drive-through counter in the American city of Detroit in a video that has gone viral.
He shouts: “Hey Willy, come here, do you want a sandwich. Come on man, I’m going to give you a sandwich man, come on man.”
The McDonald’s worker can be seen callously holding out a hamburger box to tempt the unsuspecting down-and-out to walk nearer – before lifting up a white paper cup and hurling soaking water at him.
A drive-by customer parked up beside the counter is heard laughing as the cruel prank unfolded.
The video has been viewed almost 20,000 times on social media site Live Leak and has caused an outcry from disgusted users.
Another poster, WankMyCrank, said: “This is Detroit in November. You soak some poor homeless dude at night like that… hypothermia is a VERY real possibility if he has no access to an adequate heat source or shelter.”
Another Minxypoo said: “How much of an arsehole must you be to throw water in the face of someone who is old, hungry, cold and homeless.”
But others acrimoniously turned on each other.
Poster FuManchu said: “I don’t condone it but, if the homeless had taken a piss in a doorway, after being asked to move, for example, I might say it was deserved – and I know there are tragic, helpless, homeless, who are capable of that, and much worse.”
He later said: “His water – bath may not have been right – but perhaps it was deserved: and perhaps he brought it on himself.”
McDonald’s was unavailable for comment.
UPDATE: The employee has been fired and now may be facing criminal charges.
